HC Davis
Elementary
Computer Lab

Keyboarding instruction is one aspect of
instruction used in our lab. Keyboarding instruction is introduced to
second grade by use of tutorial software and reinforced by
instruction to the students in third grade. The lab is also used for
cross curricular projects in Kindergarten, First, Second and Third
grades. These projects are developed by the grade level
teachers.
Our
labs consist of 20 networked Apple Power Macintosh computers. These
computers are networked to the District Wide Area Network and have
access to three Laser printers networked in the lab. We also have
access to a Microtek ScanMaker E3 scanner.
All teachers have access to Internet, the WAN and
email in their rooms. Many teachers are utilizing multimedia and
other facets of educational technology in their classrooms and using
School Master as their school administrative software.
