2005 State Tennis Tournament

FOUR-PEAT

& 5 STATE CHAMPS!

Once again the state tournament was played in Missoula, Montana hosted by Superior High School. The Wolves boys team captured their 4th STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. They once again wrapped up the championship on the second day placing 7 individuals into championship matches. The Wolves scored 49 points as St. Ignatius finished as the runnerup with 33 points. The Lady Wolves finished 4th at state tournament their best ever finish.

Senior Brian McDivitt finished his high school career with a State Singles title to go along with his state doubles title in 2003. He defeated Keith Miller of Loyola in straight sets 6-1,6-0. Kyle Lewis and Jeff Larson claimed their second straight State Doubles title. The two defeated teammates Garett Meznarich and Matt Whelchel in the doubles championship match, also for the second year in a row. Jessica Jacobsen and Melanie Rice captured the first ever State Doubles title for the Lady Wolves beating Fairfield's Jacobsen/Patterson in the finals 7-5,7-6(4). Congratulations to the "5" new State Champions from Cut Bank High School!
