| The National Honor Society is a service organization established to recognize students who reflect high academic accomplishments and exemplary character, leadership, and service qualities.
1. After School Program -- NHS members volunteer their time after school to help tutor younger students in the elementary schools. 2. Make-a Difference in the Community -- NHS members volunteer their time during scheduled fall, winter and spring cleanups for senior citizens' yards. NHS members are individually actively involved in interacting with nursing home residents as well. 3. NHS Tutoring -- NHS members can volunteer to tutor fellow students. Tutoring can be single sessions, or a long term arrangement. 4. Coats-4-Kids -- NHS sets up a coat collection bin in the high school gym lobby during the months of September and October. Children's coats are collected, Quality Cleaners generously volunteers to clean the coats, and the "gently used and new" coats are given to the elementary schools for distribution. 5. Books for Kids -- In conjunction with February's "I Love to Read" month, National Honor Society sets up a children's book collection center in the CBHS library. Books donated are given to Read America students by those students who have volunteered as their mentors. Thanks, Cut Bank, for all of the wonderful children's books you donated this past spring !! 6. Salvation Army --NHS students volunteer to help with the local Salvation Army bell-ringing during the Christmas season. 7. Teacher Recognition -- NHS members traditionally recognize faculty members during Teacher Appreciation Week. 8. New Student Mentors -- NHS members volunteer to introduce new students to life at CBHS.
