NMSAA Winter Meeting Minutes
Monday. January 17, 2005
Meeting called to order at 9:00 PM.
Update member information.
Any additions to agenda? None heard.
Reading of previous minutes took place. Motion & seconded to accept as read. Vote unanimous.
Updating web site. Discussion followed.
Sportsmanship discussion. Karr Sheppard discussed scores being run up. Suggestions were to add the Sportsmanship Creed to the programs or have the Creed on hand and distribute to those who are exhibiting poor sportsmanship. Read the Sportsmanship Creed at games. Add a “Mercy Rule” for coaches so they don’t have starter in to run up the score. Ask coaches what they think of a mercy rule. What kind of Mercy rule would they like to see? Example—Twenty points ahead then start running clock. Stop clock only for time outs and injuries.
Wrestling scheduling issues.
Volleyball Schedule discussed.
Discuss BB rules with officials prior to start of tournament. Officials must be MOA certified.
BBB Tournament Seeding.
