NMSAA 2005 Fall Meeting Minutes
October 24, 2005
Shelby Administration Building
Meeting was called to order at 9:15 AM
Corrections and additions were made to the agenda. Add master schedule discussion.
Minutes read, motioned, seconded, and approved unanimously.
Introductions took place. Jay Young Running Crane is representing Heart Butte.
Update conference records for seeding.
Constitutional wording changes have taken place and are posted on NMSAA website.
Web site has been completely updated.
Constitution wording changes regarding adding a mid winter seeding meeting the Monday before the VB final four weekend. Motioned, seconded, and passed unanimously.
Mid winter meeting for VB seeding is Monday, March 13, 1006.
Any discussion regarding the bb mercy rule or weight limits for track? Leave as is.
Master schedule wrestling schedule is changed to Saturday, March 11, 2006, is at Conrad and Cut Bank will host Saturday, March 25, 2006.
All schools must check master schedule to see if there are any problems. Contact Tara via email to make changes.
Administrative passes handed out.
Winter BBB seeding meeting day is Monday, January 16, 2006. The mid-winter VB seeding meeting is March 13, 2006. Spring scheduling meeting is Monday, April 24, 2005.
Track weight discussion again took place. Are we giving the wrong message about weight, especially for girls? We should speak to other districts about how they run their track divisions. Jim would like to have a track person to do the calling. Matt Genger will do the calling. All Ads should speak to our coaches and others regarding this.
Seeding took place.
Conrad will host both the 7th and 8th grade tournament. Send tournament info to Jim this PM. Hosting school will email the results of the preliminary tournament games
Roster updates added. Get to Jim this PM.
Volleyball scheduling for Heart Butte took place.
Shawn Clark discussed the allowing home-schooled kids allowing to participate on middle school teams. This has become an issue. Most districts don’t allow home schooled students to participate with city’s middle school or have their own “home school” team. Discussion followed. There are kids playing on the Boarding Dorm team that are not staying at the Boarding Dorm. Dustin asked for a motion to discuss Boarding Dorm’s issue on the agenda for the Spring Meeting scheduling, seconded, approved unanimously. Bring back info from coaches and administration to discuss at that meeting.
Heart Butte 8th grade girls uniforms are white only; their 7th girls have black only.
Motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded, so moved at 11:10 AM.
