Meeting came to order at 9:00 AM.
Corrections and/or Additions to the agenda: SB wants to add a proposal to re-divide our district. Loren wants to discuss the possibility of a mercy rule.
Attendance: All present.
Introductions took place.
Reading of the previous meeting minutes took place. Motion to approve; seconded, passed unanimously
Treasury Report: $725.07 in our Wells Fargo checking account.

Discussion of BB mercy rule took place. Loren wondered if we should add a mercy rule or take it as a game-by-game basis. Scott discussed adding a running clock. Gail thought that coaches should control those games as much as possible. Some schools said they did institute a mercy rule when playing larger schools.
Constitutional wording changes/additions: Loren motioned for basketball adding a 30-point mercy rule after half-time and continue the game with the running clock except for time-outs and/or injury. Seconded. Passed unanimously. Place in BB section.
Football rules and regulation discussion took place. Conrad is ok with any rules as long as it is consistent across the board. CB addressed the issue of being sure that larger kids are not playing against really small kids. Loren motioned to table the discussion until the next meeting due to not having the correct information available at this time. Seconded. Passed unanimously.
Update on wrestling schedule discussion took place. Loren would like to have Conrad move their meet to the 20th because GF is having their folk-style tournament the same weekend as Conrad now has theirs scheduled.
Choteau’s coach was wondering if we could change our divisional tournament to a weekday, so teams could get to Billings for the Montanan Open. Most schools feels that a weekday meet is not feasible.
Discussion of this year’s wrestling schedule took place. We will add Fairfield meet on the 20th of March. Divisional is in Browning on the 27th of March.
Divisional seeding meeting on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 5:00 at UMS room 104.
Discussion of allowing 6th grade and younger to participate in volleyball took place.
Constitutional wording addition—motion made by HB: NMSAA will only compete in 7th and 8th grade conference games. 6th, 5th, & 4th graders, respectively, are allowed to participate only if needed to complete a roster. Seconded. Passed unanimously. Added to By Laws Article 2 following section 1.
SMS Silver VB will play a non-conference season this season.
CB Combo VB is playing a non-conference schedule as well.

Gail has been asked to bring up weekday games due to the amount of school kids are missing. Lengthening the season is a possibility. We will discuss that at the spring meeting. Motion to adjourn. Seconded. Meeting adjourned at 10:45. |
