NMSAA 2011 Winter I Meeting Minutes

2011 December Meeting
Cut Bank Administration Building
Monday, December 12, 2011
9:00 AM
Meeting came to order at 9:03 AM
Attendance: Jim Gregg, Mark Loudenslagel, Micheal Hairsine, Dan Belcourt, Tara Thielman, Loren Tacke, Mike Schmidt, Brandon Kavanagh,
John Shepherd, Poor Boy Croff, & Ryan Taylor were in attendance.
Introductions took place.
No corrections or additions to agenda—none.
Minutes of last meeting were read. Motion and second was made to accept minutes as read, passed unanimously.
Secretary/Treasurer report stated that $626.43 is in the checking account.
DLS would like to discuss allowing 4th grader to wrestle. There will be only one 4th grader who is the size of at least of 5th grader.
They are petitioning to have this student be allowed to wrestle. There is a little guy wrestling program in Browning available to him.
Loren said that we’d be opening a can of worms allowing him to participate. DLS motioned to allow Ray Davis wrestle in the NMSAA
wrestling conference. No second to the motion. Motion dies for lack of a second.
Constitutional clarification and changes regarding the running clock after thirty points. This happens only in the 2nd half and running clock
cannot switch back if score increases.
BBB Conference records were discussed. No changes or corrections were made. 7th grade tournament will be played in Cut Bank in the little gym.
This is a historic tournament as the gym is scheduled for demolition in March. 8th grade tournament will be in Choteau. Choteau is having problems
finding officials for Saturday. Choteau is considering hosting the tournament on Friday evening. This would allow teams with coaches who coach both
7th & 8th graders to coach in both tournaments. We’ll schedule preliminary games first to see if a Friday evening tournament will work.
8th grade tournament will take place on Friday, December 16, 2011.
Our next meeting will take place when we schedule GVB tournaments. Shelby will have two 8th grade teams.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made and seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 9:34 AM.
