Corrections and additions to the agenda-none noted. Motioned by EG, seconded, and accepted as read.
Reading/corrections/additions to minutes-none noted. Motioned by EG, seconded, and accepted as read.
Discussion involving mini-javelin took place. Some felt that there could be a possibility of lack of coaches available to teach proper technique. Kids would love it. Safety problem of where to throw it without putting kids in danger. Motion – SMS add many javelin as an event to our track program. EG seconded. More discussion ensued. Vote: Aye-1; Nay-7. Motion failed. Motion brought to revisit this discussion at our next meeting in March. Seconded by EG. Motion passed unanimously.
Supervision during and after contests--Things are going well at each venue. Schools feel that we have taken care of the problem.
Book keepers and score keepers for VB & tournaments. BMS said there was a problem at CJI GBB final tournaments about teams having to supply their own book keepers. Discussion took place regarding the host team provides experienced personel to run tournaments. SB made a motions for Constitutional wording change in basketball and volleyball post-season sections of the constitution saying the schools that host the preliminary and final four tournaments are responsible to provide all necessary personnel to run the tournament. These personnel must be experience. Seconded. Unanimously passed.
Any more constitutional wording changes—discussion occurred. No other changes were made.
VB, WR, TR schedules were confirmed.
BBB final four seeding took place. 7th grade tournament is in Browning. 8th grade tournament is in Shelby.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:10. Seconded. Passed unanimously.
